What are the import regulations for Germany?

When importing products into Germany, various import regulations need to be considered, including the following:

  1. Product safety and CE marking requirements
  2. Custom declaration requirements
  3. Import tax requirements

The EU-based address of the importer or manufacturer should be marked on the product or packaging. This requirement is defined in the German Produktsicherheitsgesetz (ProdSG § 6 Abs. 1 Nr. 2).

Since the enforcement of regulation (EU) 2019/1020, the address may also be that of an EU-based authorised representative instead of the address of the importer or manufacturer
